Faith in what?

Faith in what?

Check out this statement from Peter after the crippled beggar was healed.

Acts 3:16

And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

After 40 years of being unable to walk, the beggar is miraculously healed and people started to look at the disciples with wonder and amazement. Peter said the miracle came from faith in the name of Jesus. He didn't believe for healing to do this, he simply believed in the name of Jesus.

We please God with our faith.

How does believing for a car, money, house, husband or wife please God? I just don't see how it can if we are missing seeing Jesus daily. I asked

myself this question a few weeks ago and couldn't answer it. So I decided to make my one and only faith project to see Jesus. I believe that the only way to please God is to have faith in Jesus. Old faith projects have now been named a little more appropriately; I now call them my hope projects. This small change in my perspective has REVOLUTIONALIZED my faith and is really transforming my life!

Mmmm, hope projects, nice thought! So if what you are hoping for is the desires of your heart, who gives you the desires of your heart? Jesus right Faith is believing in Jesus who gives you the desires of your heart. For me faith is not believing for stuff and hoping that Jesus will provide them. That just seems mixed up to me! why? Because I don't see Jesus anywhere in that. If I say, "I am believing for healing," where is Jesus in that statement? It almost seems like a generic "Christanese" statement that has been programmed into us.

What about, "Seek ye first the kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you"? I think that when you start to believe for stuff you actually run the risk of bypassing God's order for blessing you. You make it about the blessing instead of the Blesser, which negates the whole thing. How do actually and honestly expect God to add the miraculous to you when you are not seeking first the Kingdom? And if you are actually seeking first the Kingdom, then things would be manifested right? Let's face it, the miraculous certainly seems to follow the Kenneth Copeland's of the world around. He is part of a group of okes who dedicate everything they are to the Kingdom. Of course they will get the stuff they ask God for. I don't think that it's their believing for things that gets the stuff but rather their believing in.

It just seems like a no-brainer to make God your faith project and let Him actually take care of you. The Word says that His will is perfect for you. For me, the preaching of the gospel is the Word of faith.

Always Dream Big Dreams (Terry Savelle Foy)

Some people will always try to talk you out of your dreams. Some will laugh at you, tell you your dreams are foolish and even try to bring you down to their level. Monty Roberts, author of The Man Who Listens to Horses, calls them ‘dream-stealers.’

When Monty was in school, he was given an assignment to write his dreams. Monty wrote that he would like to own his own 200-acre ranch and raise Thoroughbred racehorses. His teacher gave him an F and explained that he deemed his dream unrealistic! The teacher was certain that no one living in a camper on the back of a pickup truck would ever be able to accumulate enough money to buy a ranch, horses and pay the salaries for ranch hands. This teacher even gave Monty a chance at a higher grade by rewriting his paper. Monty told him, ‘You keep the F; I’m keeping my dream.’ Today Monty has that ranch!

When my dad surrendered his life to the Lord back in 1969, he said to the Lord, “I am a failure. I’m a nobody. What would you want with me?” And he heard the Lord say, “Don’t worry about it, son. I am a Master at making champions out of nobodies.”

In order to turn into a champion, Dad had to surround himself with other champions. He began to renew his mind to the word of God by listening to other ministers teach on healing, prosperity, faith, confession, etc…and his life began to change from the inside out. He was transformed by the renewing of his mind. Although he had never met some of the ministers he was listening to, he was surrounding himself with champions, big dreamers, people of strong faith!

I’ve heard that you can tell the size of the dream by the people it attracts. In fact, Thomas Edison, Henry Ford and Harvey Firestone would get together frequently at their winter mansions in Fort Meyers, Florida. Even though Thomas Edison was an inventor, Henry Ford was an assembly-line expert and Harvey Firestone was a genius in corporate management, they would learn from each other’s expertise.

One of the keys to a successful life is to learn from people who are already experiencing what you’d like to experience. So get around big thinkers, big dreamers and big achievers.

Goliath

Colossians 2:15
15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

What has this to do with Goliath?
Well here we go…
Goliath is introduced to us with the words “a champion went out from the camp of the Philistines.” A champion, quite a title? Not a great warrior or leader but champion, this tells us that he is unbeatable, in fact. He is so formidable that he stands and defies the whole Israel army and they were dismayed and greatly afraid.

Imagine this guy, massive and full of arrogance, pride and well, a just plain bully. “Come on anyone let’s fight, I am going to destroy you.” I am on a mission to humiliate you, and kill you.

Goliath was a spectacle. Check this… 1 Samuel 17 : 10 And the Philistine said, “I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together.” 11 When Saul and all Israel heard these words of the Philistine, they were dismayed and greatly afraid.

In short – Goliath represents many of our pitfalls and hardships that we face today. Isn’t it great that he was defeated. (for more on the fight look out for future posts)

David killed goliath and cut off his head, now here is the thing that I missed. Later on David meats with Saul with Goliath’s head in his hand. Imagine this youngster walking around with this massive head in his hand. A prime example of being made a spectacle of.

With or without you.

Verses
And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. 16 So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, 17 which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ. 18 Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, 19 and not holding fast to the Head, from whom all the body, nourished and knit together by joints and ligaments, grows with the increase that is from God. 20 Therefore, if you died with Christ from the basic principles of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to regulations— 21 “Do not touch, do not taste, do not handle,” 22 which all concern things which perish with the using—according to the commandments and doctrines of men? 23 These things indeed have an appearance of wisdom in self-imposed religion, false humility, and neglect of the body, but are of no value against the indulgence of the flesh.

To be with Christ you need to be without our sinfull natures. To be without your sinfull nature is to be with Christ. Making up rules or religions wit your mind.

Rom 6
6 1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? 3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Baptism is a public declaration stating that you belong to Jesus. He cancelled the record of charges that were against us, totally blotted out.

2 cor 5
21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

By this God sees us dressed in Christ and has taken care of our enemy. He made a public spectacle of him much in the same way as David and Goliath. His head was chopped off and carried around to display the defeat.

Mission to become Christ centered believers. Not just having Jesus as a part of your life.

1 1 Paul, an apostle (not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised Him from the dead), 2 and all the brethren who are with me, To the churches of Galatia: 3 Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, 4 who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, 5 to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

20 march Aloysias

Last Sunday with or without You. 2 1 For I want you to know what a great conflict I have for you and those in Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh, 2 that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 4 Now this I say lest anyone should deceive you with persuasive words. 5 For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ. This is from Colossians chapter 2. Continue reading

Bible Verses ,

The land between

We use language like “for now” it Is a place where we find ourselves. God said to the Israelites I will take them out of Egypt and bring them into the Promised Land.

This refers to the 40 years in-between Egypt and the Promiced Land.

Now the mixed multitude who were among them yielded to intense craving; so the children of Israel also wept again and said: “Who will give us meat to eat? 5 We remember the fish which we ate freely in Egypt, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic; 6 but now our whole being is dried up; there is nothing at all except this manna before our eyes!” 7 Now the manna was like coriander seed, and its color like the color of bdellium.

The guys were hugely unsatisfied with their circumstances. We need to put ourselves in their shoes, we would no doubt be whining with them.

11 So Moses said to the LORD, “Why have You afflicted Your servant? And why have I not found favor in Your sight, that You have laid the burden of all these people on me? 12 Did I conceive all these people? Did I beget them, that You should say to me, “Carry them in your bosom, as a guardian carries a nursing child,’ to the land which You swore to their fathers? 13 Where am I to get meat to give to all these people? For they weep all over me, saying, “Give us meat, that we may eat.’ 14 I am not able to bear all these people alone, because the burden is too heavy for me.

The ground in the land between is fertile for complaints we need to hold our mouths. We tend to forget that God loves to provide for us.

Then you shall say to the people, “Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow, and you shall eat meat; for you have wept in the hearing of the LORD, saying, ‘Who will give us meat to eat? For it was well with us in Egypt.” Therefore the LORD will give you meat, and you shall eat. 19 You shall eat, not one day, nor two days, nor five days, nor ten days, nor twenty days, 20 but for a whole month, until it comes out of your nostrils and becomes loathsome to you, because you have despised the LORD who is among you, and have wept before Him, saying, “Why did we ever come up out of Egypt?”

It is not only fertile for provision but also for Gods discipline. They wanted meat And they sure got their share. The reason for this is that God was preparing them.

What are we supplied to do with this? This is the ground where we will learn to trust and follow God. It will train you how to transform from slavery to Gods elect, His chosen ambassadors.

We cam learn from this that complaints caused problems, they spread and move in to your life rapidly.

Trust will expel complaint

Always having for all

This is the first of many short prosperity posts.

2 Cor 9 : 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

It is Gods plan for us to be able to help people and not only help but solve problems. Enough for every good work.

Rom 8 : 9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.

I wonder why it says “though he was rich” could this mean that Jesus might have been rich? Wow! How cool is that? The son of the almighty creator actually had money, I wonder why people are so surprised and even upset by this chain of thought?

Have you seen my post repent or perhaps you might enjoy the cross
